We’re still at the marina, though we had hoped to be off on our adventure by now. Setting up the houseboat has proven to be more time-consuming than anticipated. Moving from a full-sized house to a compact houseboat has been a challenging process. We’ve had to part with a lot of belongings that simply won’t fit in this smaller space. At least now we’ve made enough progress to swing half a cat in here! Once everything is organized, it’ll be such a relief not to be tripping over the cats, dogs, Ken, boxes, and all the clutter. Looking forward to finally settling in!
On the bright side, I managed to transform our teeny-tiny bedroom nook into a slightly more spacious and functional space! It took a careful approach to remove skirting boards, beading, paneling, and finally dismantle the wall framework. Now, we can access the bed from the bottom and the entire right side, instead of awkwardly climbing over each other through a narrow entrance. While it’s still looking plain and a bit uninspired at the moment, my plan is to add some personality and charm once everything is set up. For now, the focus is on getting organized and preparing the houseboat for our upcoming river adventure!
